Box charity trekker heads for Atlantic mission (Gazette & Herald)

Charity adventurer Sam Williams is getting on his bike to raise money for poverty stricken farmers in Kenya.

The 25-year-old, of Ashley, near Box, decided that one daring feat was not enough in a lifetime after completing a journey across the Atlantic in his boat Pacific Pete in 75 days, raising £20,000 for FARM-Africa. The charity helps poverty-stricken families feed themselves so they do not have to rely on aid.

He has decided to go and see how his money has been spent, cycling more than 6,000 miles to East Africa starting in London on March 27, exactly a year after he reached his rowing destination in Antigua…
